BIG EASEL
Blooming Brightly in Western Kansas in the spring of 2001, the “World’s Largest Painting on an Easel” was erected in Pioneer Park in Goodland, Kansas. The 24 x 32-foot painting is a reproduction of Vincent Van Gogh’s Three Sunflowers in a Vase.

KIDDER MASSACRE SITE
Two years after the Civil War ended, war came to Sherman County. Sometime around July 2, 1867, 25-year-old Lt. Lyman S. Kidder and his 10-man patrol, along with a Sioux Indian scout, Red Bead, were massacred in northeastern Sherman County. Their deaths were the first recorded event in Sherman County.
